IIT Delhi Alumni Day 2025 Celebrates Legacy, Innovation, and Lifelong Bonds

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi Alumni Association (IITDAA) successfully hosted its 12th Alumni Day on 21 December 2025 at the IIT Delhi campus, bringing together alumni, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, artists, and students to celebrate a shared legacy of excellence, camaraderie, and future-forward thinking.

With a global alumni strength of nearly 65,000 graduates, Alumni Day 2025 reaffirmed IIT Delhi’s strong alumni ecosystem and its role as a catalyst for mentorship, innovation, collaboration, and nation-building. The flagship gathering featured engaging discussions, cultural showcases, startup pitches, and milestone batch celebrations.

The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Kalpen Shukla, President, IIT Delhi Alumni Association (IITDAA), followed by the inaugural address by Prof. Vivek V. Buwa, Deputy Director (Strategy & Planning), Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. The inaugural session was further elevated by the keynote address of Shashank Mani Tripathi, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), who emphasized the pivotal role of premier institutions like IIT Delhi in nurturing leadership, driving innovation, and contributing meaningfully to public service and nation-building.

A key highlight of the day was the Startup Club Showcase & Funding Pitch, held at the Lecture Hall Complex (LHC), where promising IIT Delhi start-ups presented their ventures to alumni investors, venture capitalists, and industry leaders-fostering meaningful connections, mentorship, and growth opportunities within the alumni ecosystem. Adding further depth to the entrepreneurial dialogue was an engaging fireside chat with Kapil Bharati, Co-Founder of Delhivery, who shared candid insights on building scalable businesses, navigating challenges, and leveraging innovation to create long-term impact.

The parallel knowledge sessions were led by accomplished moderators who added depth and direction to each discussion. Aparna Saroagi moderated AI Innovations & Global Capacity Building, Prof. Geetanjali Kaushik guided Clear the Sky – Every Breath Counts, Dr. Sakshi Aggarwal led Empowered Women – Rise, Lead, Inspire, and Sanjeeva Shivesh anchored Funding and Incubation Pathways, ensuring focused, insightful, and impactful conversations throughout Alumni Day 2025.

The cultural segment infused the celebrations with energy and emotion, featuring a laughter-filled stand-up comedy performance by Aashish Solanki and an inspiring Kavi Sammelan 2025 showcasing renowned poets and satirists Dr. Popular Merthi, Anil Agarwanshi, Shambhu Shikhar, Mahesh Garg Bedhadak, and Kalpana Shukla. The evening was further elevated by an enchanting live musical performance by Akhil Sachdeva (of Kabir Singh fame), along with captivating cultural performances that left the audience enthralled.

Alumni Day 2025 also marked important milestones, including the first Diamond Jubilee celebrations of the 1966 and 1967 batches and Silver Jubilee celebrations of the 2000 batch, rekindling memories through alumni reunions and campus nostalgia walks.

Speaking on the occasion, President of IIT Delhi Alumni Association said,

“Alumni Day is not just a reunion, but a reaffirmation of our shared values and collective responsibility to give back. Through engagement, mentorship, and collaboration, our alumni continue to strengthen IIT Delhi’s legacy while shaping the future.”

Another IITDAA office bearer added,
