Say hi to India’s first UPSC Social app – Aspirant Adda

The Hidden Struggle of UPSC Preparation

UPSC is often called the toughest journey in India. Lakhs of aspirants prepare for years in libraries and small rooms, chasing one dream: IAS. While the basics of this exam are clear: limited resources, syllabus, and PYQs; what no one talks about is the unseen tax of loneliness. Many aspirants say they miss peer support, especially if they are not in Delhi’s ORN or other big hubs.

The Solution: Aspirant Adda

This is where Aspirant Adda comes in. It is India’s first UPSC social app, built only for aspirants. Unlike coaching classes or online content platforms, Aspirant Adda focuses on something different: peer-to-peer connection. The idea is simple: learning is stronger when you share it with others.

Peer-to-Peer at Scale

With a structured feed divided into eight groups, the app covers all key segments of UPSC prep. These groups recreate the adda vibe of UPSC hubs: Delhi, Patna, Prayagraj, Indore, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and more to bring it to your phone. Whether you are in Etawah or Majuli, Dindigul or Vadodara, Jammu or Beed, Sasaram or Cuttack, you can connect directly with aspirants, mentors, and peers across India.

The Lean Team Behind It

The team of Himanshu Poswal, Shivnath Halder, and Tushar Singla understands this struggle well. It is a lean team with backgrounds in UPSC, tech, media and ops. Their approach was simple: build what aspirants want. To do that, they spent months traveling across India from Lucknow and Patna to Indore, Jaipur, and Hyderabad; living among aspirants and learning their needs firsthand. Two core learnings: Extreme loneliness & high FOMO.

Strong Early Traction

The result speaks for itself. Within a month of launch, Aspirant Adda has crossed 20,000 users from 700+ Indian pin codes. Students are discussing topics, forming study groups, and finding emotional peer support during the long and difficult preparation journey.

The Bigger Vision: Ed-Communities for India

But the vision does not stop here. The founders believe ed-communities (digital communities built around education) are the next big thing for India. Just as coaching and content grew into large industries, peer-to-peer platforms will become the third pillar of learning. Aspirant Adda aims to lead this change, starting with UPSC and expanding to other competitive exams, targeting 1 crore+ aspirants within the next two years.

A Mission to Make Preparation Collaborative

“Our mission is to make preparation less lonely and more collaborative,” said Tushar.
