On Sunday, 4 October 2026, Raipur United Round Table 344 (RURT 344) took part in the Area 3 Tree Plantation Drive, turning an ordinary evening into a shared act of community service. Tablers and Twinklers stood side by side, and together the Table planted 100 trees — a small step on paper, and a deliberate one on the ground.
The drive was executed by LMF Tr. Sumit Kukreja and LMF Tr. Pratik Poptani under Team Community Service. LMF Tr. Utkarsh Gupta, SSR & Publicity Convener, narrated the evening for the Table and for the wider fellowship: what was planted, who showed up, and why the numbers matter less than the habit of showing up.
Round Table’s creed has always been simple. Fellowship is not a slogan reserved for dinners and AGMs. It is also what happens when members leave the hall, pick up saplings, and spend an evening in the open with their Twinklers. Area 3’s plantation drive gave RURT 344 exactly that setting. The work was physical. The point was collective.
One hundred trees will not rewrite the climate of a city. Nobody at the drive pretended otherwise. What they will do is occupy ground that would otherwise stay bare, throw shade in a few years, and stand as a record that on one Sunday in October a Table chose to plant rather than postpone. For the Twinklers who were there, the lesson was plainer still: service is something you do with your hands, not something you only hear about.
Beyond the count, the evening was about three things the Table keeps returning to — fellowship, community service, and impact made together. Tablers who have sat through countless meetings stood in the same row as younger members and Circlers’ children. The work did not need a stage. It needed people willing to stay until the last sapling was in the soil.
RURT 344 records the drive as part of its community service calendar, not as a one-off photograph. Area 3 called; the Table answered. The convenership of publicity sits with LMF Tr. Utkarsh Gupta, who carried the story outward. The execution sat with LMF Tr. Sumit Kukreja and LMF Tr. Pratik Poptani, who carried the saplings.
More trees. More fellowship. More impact.
