‘I Can Author’ Brings Together 44 Powerful Stories of Transformation, Healing and the Journey to Becoming an Author

India, 22-10-2026: What happens before a book becomes a book? Behind every published title lies a story that readers rarely get to see: a journey of uncertainty, self-doubt, bravery, persistence, discovery and transformation.

Launched at the ICA Conclave 2026 on 20 September 2026, I Can Author is an anthology featuring 44 contributors whose stories explore the personal journeys behind becoming an author. Compiled by Inspiring Jatin (Jatin Gupta), Founder of the International Council of Authors, the book goes beyond the achievement of publishing to examine how writing can influence identity, confidence, healing, purpose and personal growth. The anthology is envisioned as part of a continuing series, with more volumes planned to bring forward additional author journeys and experiences.

The anthology also features Inspiring Jatin (Jatin Gupta), Founder of the International Council of Authors and compiler of I Can Author, as a contributing author. Through his chapter, The Book That Changed My Life Twice, Jatin reflects on how writing his first book, Break Free to Break Through, became a turning point in his personal and professional life. From overcoming self-doubt as a first-time author to navigating the challenges of leaving corporate life during COVID-19, his journey explores the power of conviction, personal transformation and the impact one book can have beyond its pages. His story also reflects how his experience as an author eventually contributed to his mission of helping other aspiring writers find their voice and build their author identities.

44 Authors, 44 Different Journeys

The anthology provides versatile experiences that demonstrate that there is no single path to authorship. Dr. Sreekumar Krishnan, through When One Book Changed the Author More Than the Readers, explores the transformative power of writing, while Gynaneshwar Sharma Velidandla reflects on healing through Journey of Healing Our Deepest Scars. Kunti Nagwekar presents her experience through My First Book, A Blessing, A Transformation, while Depika Sirwani explores the relationship between aspiration and authorship in The Dream and the Calling.

Every author has a different story behind the decision to write a book . For Prema Ganesh in Before The First Word. Ayesha Siddiqa Haleema, through I Wrote a Book and Rewrote My Life, highlights the profound personal transformation that can rise through writing. Avni Atharva Karandikar explores self-empowerment in The Power of Choosing Yourself, as Sumanth Namburi connects authorship with legacy in My Journey, My Legacy: How Life Shaped Me into an Author.

Some stories explain that inspiration can develop from unexpected places. Rituraaj Juneja shares The Book That Began With a Broken Bucket, as Rimana Dollie K and Rupali Mukherjee explore the reciprocal relationship between writer and writing through their respective chapters, The Book That Wrote Me.

Riyaa takes readers “A Journey from Imagination to Ink”, as Sharmilla Arvind Kasbekaar chronicles her movement from limitation to possibility in From Impossible to “I M Possible”: My Author Journey. Mohseena M brings the emotional dimension of writing to the forefront through When Every Page Carried My Tears – How Writing My First Book Began My Healing.

For Durgananthini Sivabalan, books become a pathway home in The Smell Of Books Led Me Home. Thandavarayan M explores a professional identity shift in From “Just an Employee” to “Published Author”, while Nazneen Zeeshan Ali presents a long-held dream becoming a mission through From Losses to Legacy, A Forty Five Year Dream That Became a Mission.

The anthology also captures how authorship can create new dimensions of professional and personal identity. Dr. Sathya Priyanka, MD(S) shares An Unimaginable Transformation of a Doctor to an Author – Birth of a New Version in Me. Manan Bajjaj explores purpose through The Pen That Redefined My Purpose, while Mukti Bajaj presents From Purpose to Pages: My Journey as an Author.

Each writer brings a different experience and perspective to the world of books. In Reuniting with My Eight-Year-Old Self, Krishna Raval takes us on a deeply personal journey into childhood, memories and the process of rediscovering oneself. Padmanabhan Shekar, through Smart People Simple Traps, offers an interesting look at the everyday situations and thought patterns that can sometimes catch even the smartest of us off guard. And in The Day My Words Learned to Travel, Prithi Gopinath Menon beautifully explores the journey of words, how they begin with us, find their voice, and eventually reach people and places we may never have imagined.

Anu Malik Garg, through The Book That Read Me First, reverses the conventional relationship between author and book. Madhu Jha documents her transition from Cheering From The Sideline To Writing My Own Story, while Bandaru Sandeep Raj moves from Building Structures to Building Stories.

The decision to stop postponing one’s aspirations emerges strongly in Yaduvanshi Deepak’s The Day I Stopped Waiting. Swati Sharma explores an unexpected identity in The Author I Never Planned to Become, while R SUBRAMONIAN captures the fulfilment of an unlikely dream through Never Dared to Dream, Then It Happened.

Finding and expressing one’s voice is another recurring theme. Josephine M Dias shares When My Voice Found Its Pages, while Dr. Deepa Didddi presents The Voice I Had Been Waiting For. Juhi Damodar explores identity and responsibility through The Promise Behind My Name, while Jyoti Sachdeva reflects on self-discovery in The Book That Helped Me Find Myself.

For Dr. Aayushi Vithlani, authorship began with The Nudge I Didn’t Know I Needed. Nitin Sharad Laghate explores the leadership dimension of writing in The Book That Awakened the Leader Within Me, while Sandeep Shah reflects on giving direction to accumulated ideas through The Notes That Found Their Purpose.

Govind Pathak, through The Blueprint I Didn’t Know I Was Writing, explores how life experiences can gradually form the foundation for a book. Dr Harpreet A De Singh presents the creative relationship between author and inspiration in When the Creator Became My Co-Author.

Resilience and rebirth emerge through Sangeeta Anand’s The Phoenix Mother Born to Rise from the Ashes. Kalpana Yuvarraaj explores the transition from artistic expression to authorship through Art Of Transcendence – Art to Author, while Bela Sharma contributes the introspective The Quiet House.

The anthology concludes its diverse range of perspectives with Gracious Guide Gunj, whose My Scars Learned Grammar turns personal experiences into a story of expression, and Bhawana Bajpai, whose When the Universe Aligned in My Favour reflects on the moments that can bring a person towards their calling.

The Story Behind the Book

The inspiration for I Can Author emerged from an observation within the author community: while people see the finished book, they rarely see what happened before it existed.

The fear of not being good enough, uncertainty about whether one’s story matters, procrastination, vulnerability and the difficulty of putting personal thoughts into words are experiences shared by many aspiring authors. Through these 44 stories, the anthology seeks to make that invisible journey visible. The contributors collectively demonstrate that authorship is not reserved for people who have always considered themselves writers. Entrepreneurs, professionals, experts, educators and individuals from different walks of life can arrive at authorship through completely different routes.
The idea also reflects the vision of Inspiring Jatin, Founder of the International Council of Authors. Through his work with authors, Jatin recognised that the journey often receives attention until a book is published, while the challenges and opportunities that follow can receive far less focus. He founded ICA with a broader ambition: to help authors move beyond publication towards greater visibility, recognition and authority in their respective fields. As the compiler of I Can Author, he brings this vision into an anthology that documents not only the achievement of writing, but also the personal transformation that can happen along the way.

A Book About Becoming, Not Just Writing

The defining USP of I Can Author lies in its focus on the transformation of the author rather than merely the finished book.As the anthology’s central philosophy suggests, it is not simply about 44 finished books,it is about 44 journeys of becoming. Some contributors found healing through writing. Others discovered purpose, confidence, leadership, identity or a sense of legacy. For many, the journey involved confronting fears that existed long before the first page was written. The anthology therefore speaks not only to existing authors but also to aspiring writers who have been postponing their own books.
The anthology is also intended to be part of a continuing series. With more volumes planned, I Can Author aims to create further opportunities for authors to share their experiences, reflect on their journeys and inspire aspiring writers. Each future volume can extend the series’ central idea: that becoming an author is not only about completing a manuscript, but also about discovering the voice, conviction and purpose that make the journey meaningful.

Inspiring the Next Author

At its core, I Can Author seeks to create a bridge between aspiration and possibility. An aspiring author may look at a published writer and assume that confidence and clarity came first. These 44 stories offer another perspective: sometimes the confidence develops only after taking the first step. The anthology ultimately invites readers to think about the story they have been carrying, the knowledge they have accumulated or the book they have been postponing. And it leaves them with one simple question, If 44 people could overcome their doubts and become authors, what is stopping me from becoming the 45th?

With I Can Author, the International Council of Authors aims not only to celebrate the 44 contributors and their journeys, but also to encourage more people to recognise the stories, experiences and knowledge they carry and to believe that they, too, can become authors.

Launched at ICA Conclave 2026

The anthology was launched on 20 September 2026 at the International Council of Authors ICA Conclave 2026, held in Goa under the theme “Connect. Create. Celebrate.” The conclave brought authors and members of the ICA community together to celebrate creativity, connection and the journey from being an author to building greater visibility and authority. The launch of I Can Author reflected this larger vision by bringing together 44 personal accounts of writing, self-discovery and transformation. It also reinforced the importance of creating platforms where authors can share their experiences and inspire others to begin their own writing journeys.

Founded by Inspiring Jatin, the International Council of Authors is a growing community that brings writers and authors together to support their publishing journeys and develop their author identities. According to the organisation’s profile, ICA has a community of more than 2,500 writers and authors. Its initiatives include anthologies, author platforms, speaking opportunities, podcasts, media exposure and publishing-related opportunities designed to help authors take their ideas beyond the pages of a book. Through initiatives such as I Can Author, ICA continues to encourage people to share their knowledge, experiences and stories while building meaningful connections within the author community.
